Research - Childhood Obesity

An appalling diet has contributed to an epidemic in childhood obesity. About one in six children between the ages of six and 19 are overweight. Overweight children and teens may have risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including high cholesterol, elevated insulin levels, and elevated blood pressure. In addition, they are at increased risk for various chronic diseases as adults, including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and coronary heart disease.(1)

This page lists research on the topic published since 2004 that offers links to free, full-text articles from the National Library of Medicine.
